Apricity Wellness Counseling appreciates each person as a unique soul who is equipped with diverse talents, interests, skills, and gifts. Therefore every individual who chooses therapy will experience counseling sessions co-designed for his/her/zir needs, abilities, and comfort. We will work together to identify goals, design plans to reach the goals, and walk through the steps to achieve the agreed upon wellness.
As a trained licensed counselor my integrative theoretical perspective begins with constructivism. Constructivism is a third generation of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) it focuses on interrelatedness of thinking, feeling, and behavior, it is phenomenological. The pastoral counseling training provides me with an overarching social science paradigm to seek understanding in how the numinous (transcendent) is interacting with a person’s life and well-being. It consists of metaphysical, theological, and spiritual concepts to explore and define meaning if the human experience to promote wellness. Human beings are relational, our experiences constantly shape and affect our relationships and understanding, we will explore how the circumstances being presented affect your relationships, yourself, and provide pathways to transformation.
