Wellness is the aspect of seeking health or healthier levels in all areas of life. It is a comprehensive holistic approach to helping individuals. This includes mental, spiritual, relational, financial, physical, emotional, and medical. Wellness recognizes any experience or difficulty can alter or affect one or more aspects of a person. As a counselor I am here to understand how your wellness is being affected and guide you through steps to assist in achieving your wellness goals.

Apricity– a word not widely used yet coined in 1623. Imagine yourself on a cold winter day, feeling cold and desiring to be inside. Now think of a time when this occurred and there was a moment you felt the warmth of the sun. Did you stop and take notice? Did you take a moment to enjoy the rays? It means the warmth of the sun on a cold winter day. This word was chosen to be an essential part of the practice name as the feeling of the definition reminds me of hope, love, comfort, and nourishment. If one is cold and notices the warmth of the sun, appreciates the experience of the warmth, the coldness is not the same in those moments. It is in those moments that the concept or the options a person contemplates within the warmth can change everything. When we face the storm’s of life it can feel very cold or dark; when there is hope, love, comfort, or nourishment- even an ounce can assist us through the storm.
